Benjamin (the fox. Character I haven't drawn before) and Jaycee.
In my series (where these are human characters), Benjamin is a French refugee fleeing from the war going on in Europe. The European refugees' ship ended up in Louisiana, which is a dictatorship. Jaycee is a Louisianan soldier brings the refugees to safety and, along with other rebels, trains them to become soldiers so a big army can be built to take the dictator out of power.
Benjamin, overwhelmed by shame for running away from his country and problems, is confronted by Jaycee who basically just tells him to man up and learn from his mistakes. These two characters end up becoming really close friends.
